How to negotiate proposal terms directly inside Genuin — without emails or starting over.
What is Rectification?
When a brand receives a sponsorship proposal and wants to suggest changes — to CPM, budget, placement, or other terms — they can rectify the proposal directly inside Genuin and send the updated version back to the sender. No emails. No starting over.
Proposal flow:
Proposal Received → Rectification Sent → Rectification Received → Scheduled
Who can rectify?
Either brand in a proposal relationship can initiate a rectification — the publisher brand from Monetize, or the advertiser brand from Grow. The flow is identical in both directions.
Receiver Flow — Initiating a Rectification
Step 1 — Open the incoming proposal
Navigate to Monetize → Sponsorship (publisher) or Grow → In-Network Sponsorship (advertiser). Find the proposal in Proposal Received state and click Review Proposal.
Step 2 — Click Rectify Terms
On the proposal review screen, click Rectify Terms. This opens the proposal in an editable state. The proposal remains unchanged until you send the rectification.
Step 3 — Edit the proposal terms
Update any editable field — CPM, budget, pacing, start and end dates, placement, embed, environment, pixel URL, or targeting.
The following fields are locked and cannot be changed:
- Title
- Type
- Partnering Brand
- Destination Brand
Step 4 — Revert changes if needed
Once you've made at least one change, a Revert Changes button appears. Clicking it and confirming resets all edits back to the original proposal state.
Note: Revert Changes discards all edits made in the current rectification session and returns every field to its pre-rectification value.
Step 5 — Review the summary screen
Clicking Next takes you to the review screen. Every section that has been modified shows an Updated badge. Sections with no changes remain as-is. You can also download the updated proposal as a PDF from this screen.
Step 6 — Send or save as draft
At the review stage you have two options:
Send Rectification — sends the updated terms to the original sender. Status updates to Rectification Sent and the changes are reflected on the listing. A history entry is added confirming when the rectification was sent.
Save as Draft — saves your changes within the rectification flow without sending. The main proposal details remain unchanged until you send. You can return and send later.

Original Sender — Receiving a Rectification Back
Once the rectification is sent, the original sender's proposal status updates to Rectification Received.
Step 1 — Review the rectification
Open the proposal from the listing. All changes made by the receiving brand are visible on the review screen with Updated badges on each modified section.
Step 2 — Accept or reject
Accept — the proposal moves to Scheduled state with all rectified changes applied. During acceptance, targeting can be updated one final time through GROW.
Reject — the proposal ends and moves to the Rejected state.
